Top 10 Best Shilajit Brands

#1 Lotus Blooming Herbs – Authentic Shilajit

Lotus Blooming Herbs was created by Johann Helf while studying Tibetan medicine and meditation in India. A Yogi introduced him to this ‘blood of the mountains and his resulting love of the product started him on a year’s long journey across India and Tibet to find the purest Shilajit available.

In his travels he met a Himalayan family who had been collecting and purifying Gold Grade Shilajit for more than 500 years from a high mountain valley in a remote Himalayan region of India. He partners with them to naturally harvest and refine the product and bring it to market.

Lotus Blooming Herbs only sells the one type of Shilajit, a 10g tin of it in its pure, viscous resin form. This product usually retails for about 60 dollars for this 10g jar.

This makes it one of the most expensive options of Shilajit available. However, on the positive side, this can be accounted for in its unparalleled quality and authenticity.

Each batch has extensive lab testing done on it to monitor quality and is carefully packed and sealed in an FDA-approved facility.

Lotus Blooming Herb’s quality product has created a lot of loyal customers who have experienced major health benefits of increased energy, clarity and reduced muscle pain and tension.

#2 Pure Himalayan Shilajit

Pure Himalayan Shilajit was founded in 2015, when the founders introduced a source of Shilajit to the market they had found after years of living in the Himalayan region and learning about this fascinating local product.

They take pride in preserving the original and natural molecular structure of Shilajit, by using the most gentle and traditional processing techniques possible – such as not using intensive heat on it.

Natural Himalayan Shilajit offers a wide range of products, including soft resins from both the Himalayas and Altai Mountains, powders, liquid Shilajit and solid, original form Shilajit.

Their prices range from $7.99 for 2g of the solid form of Shilajit, to $72.00 for their Liquid Shilajit Drops form the Himalaya Mountains. The reason for this more expensive price, is they claim their liquid drops are the purest form of processed Shilajit they can offer.

This company gets their resin third party tested for heavy metal, meaning you can have assurance in its health benefits.

They also offer a wide range of Shilajit products of various types and from different regions, to help you find the specific mixture that best works for you. On the downside, their mixture is a waterier and thinner than other brands.

#3 CHOQ

Choq shilajit bottle with capsules around it

The brand CHOQ is based in Texas, and focusses on providing research-based, high-quality supplements to aid mental and physical wellness. They specialise in the area of men’s health, and a lot of their products are targeted towards this.

However, the shilajit product hey sell is just as effective for women.

CHOQ sells their shilajit product in the form of capsules – their prices for various sizes range from around $40 – $70.

Each capsules contains 500mg PrimaVie purified shilajit, which is a large daily dose. The PrimaVie shilajit product has gone through some of the most extensive clinical testing of any shilajit product on the market and has proven its quality and effectiveness.

CHOQ also does rigorous quality testing, claiming they test each batch not once but twice by an independent third party, and all supplements are processed in a cGMP-certified facility. This brand has shown to improve vitality and endurance and regulate collagen synthesis.

However, the fact that they only provide shilajit in a powdered, capsuled form, means it will have less effectiveness and ‘punch’ than the pure resin form of traditional resin form.

As well as being cost-effective, the Golden Mountain brand have a great focus on sustainability and eco-consciousness, with a portion of every sale being donated to Altaisky National Biosphere Reserve a unique, UNESCO protected site in the foothills of Altai Golden Mountains.

However, this product does not dissolve very well in water. It also has a very strong smell, even compared with other Shilajit brands, and some have reported trouble digesting it properly.

#5 Youtheory

Youtheory was founded in 2010 by Darren and Patty Rude in Irvine, California, and offer a range of health supplements, including shilajit.

They are a brand committed to quality, manufacturing their product in-house in a GMP-certified facility, and testing beyond industry standards to ensure traceability and purity.

They also give back to the community, supporting charities such as New Horizons to eradicate child homelessness and local children’s hospitals.

Youtheory shilajit is made using PrimaVie® – a patent-protected, authentic extract that is clinically tested for effectiveness. They offer the product in the form of vegetarian capsules – with 60 tablets retailing for around $29.

While this product is made to a high standard, it isn’t as potent or pure as a lot of other options. Not only, is it only offered in powdered capsule form, instead of resin, it also has a lot of other additives in the capsule. These include things like microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium, silicon dioxide.

These all take away from the experience of having 100% pure shilajit and may dilute the effect. However, many customers have found this product to be beneficial, including boosting their mitochondrial function and energy.

#6 Natural Shilajit

Natural Shilajit was founded by Andre Kono. He started the brand after finding the nutrients in the food he ate in America felt insufficient to keep him healthy and energised.

To counteract this, he started taking shilajit sourced from his home country of Russia, and soon wanted to share this product with the world.

Natural Shilajit is sourced from above 14,000 feet in the pristine Altai Mountains in Central Asia. This mountain range is known for its unspoiled and diverse natural habitat.

Natural Shilajit has about 16 different products on offer. One is a range of sizes of Shilajit in its natural, resin form – which is certified as ‘GRADE A’.

The second is Nutrihoney – which mixes a daily dose of Shilajit resin with raw honey in a stick for easy use. This brand also offers Shilajit capsules, as well as a range of bundle deals. Their prices range from $35 for 10g of Shilajit resin, up to $89 for their larger bundle deals.

This brand offers you peace of mind on authenticity and quality by being transparent with test results, manufacturing to FDA GMP standards, and providing a Certificate of Analysis for each batch.

On the other hand, some batches of this product can be very difficult to dissolve in water. The customer service and delivery times provided by this company are also not great.

#7 Purblack

Purblack was founded by Nodari Rizun in 2012. This brand focusses on combining the traditional techniques and harvesting of Shilajit with modern processing and filtering technology to create an optimised product.

Purblack also strives to be an environmentally responsible company, keeping their manufacturing waste as low as possible, and packaging their resin in recyclable biophotonic Miron glass.

Purblack only offers Shilajit in resin form, as they believe that allows them to preserve that most natural properties of the product. They offer 30g of Purblack Live Resin for $93 as their cheapest option. You can also purchase 210g of Live Gold Resin for $500 or 30g of the Immunity Max Resin version (which contains coated silver) for $99.

This may be difficult for some customers, as they don’t really provide a low-cost option for their customers.

Also, the smoky, bitter taste and more liquid consistency of the resin they sell may be difficult for some customers to cope with.

However, Purblack provides complete certificate of analysis for their products, and conducts a lot of testing on them to ensure you are getting a high-quality product.

Many people who have tried this product report a great increase in energy and mental clarity.

#8 Primavie

The Primavie brand is a product of the company Natreon. Founded in 1992, it exists to bring scientifically studied and tested Ayurvedic ingredients to a global audience.

Their team is headed by Prof. Shibnath Ghosal, a Fulbright scholar and an eminent natural product chemist, and contains several other members with impressive medicinal backgrounds.

The Primavie Shilajit health supplements have been the subject of several clinical studies, including one completed by Ohio State University, and another published by the National Library of Medicine. Both support the idea that taking these shilajit products provide significant health benefits.

Primavie mainly sells their Shilajit in the form of 250mg capsules, with prices for a bottle ranging from about $40-$60.

While capsules do make it far easier to use this supplement, and to carefully track the dosage you take, Primavie does not offer a resin version of Shilajit, which is considered by many to be the more natural and organic form for it, and their capsules contain non-Shilajit addities.

However, this product is both Kosher and Halal certified, vegetarian and stable in solution. It is verified to contain dibenzo-α-pyrones (DBPs), DBP-Chromoproteins (DCP), Fulvic Acid and over 40 different minerals.

#9 Siberian Treasure

Siberian Treasure is a brand who brings the natural health product of their country to the world. They see themselves as a 21st Century trade caravan, continuing in the tradition of their ancestors the Slavs, and the Rus and bringing the bounty of their homeland to others.

Siberian Treasure offers two main shilajit products – a 1-ounce bottle of Mongolian Shilajit Resin for $39.0 and a 3.5-ounce bottle of Siberian Shilajit Resin for $49.00.

As you can tell, it is a lot more cost effective than comparative brands of Shilajit. However, it still has third party lab testing done on the product, with records available upon request to verify the authenticity of the product. Many customers have found taking this resin to give them a subtle, yet long-lasting energy boost.

It may not be as potent or strong as some Himalayan brands of shilajit, however. It is soupier than a traditional resin and its effects aren’t felt as strongly by some customers. The angled corners of the jar it is packaged in can make it difficult to get the resin out.

#10 Black Lotus Shilajit

Black Lotus Shilajit was founded in 2019 in Melbourne, FL. They are a small, family business with over 20 years combined experience with herbs, nutrition, and supplements.

They focus on making sure their raw product is consciously and sustainably gathered, and that their finished product is as pure as possible.

There final product is Rejuvenade – a case of 12 bottles of tonic sold for $75.00. Each bottle contains one daily dose of Shilajit in it.

Harvested every summer from the pristine Altai Mountains in Siberia, this Shilajit is carefully filtered with glacier water, and never heated above 103 degrees during purification.

It is also stored in Miron UltraViolet Glass to prevent any deterioration during storage.

However, it is harvested from lower altitudes than traditional Himalayan Shilajit and so may not have all the same benefits. Some batches also arrive to the customer quite solid and difficult to use.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Does it matter which brand of shilajit I buy?

Yes. Fake shilajit is quite common. Brands will simply extract the minerals and irons commonly found in shilajit from regular soil and sell this as shilajit when it is a far inferior product without the same health benefits.

Therefore, it is very important you buy from a reputable brand where you can trust the quality of the shilajit you are purchasing. Different brands will also process the shilajit into different products, or source it from different regions, all of which could affect its efficacy for you.

Do brands that sell shilajit need FDA approval?

No, brands that sell shilajit will commonly not have FDA approval. This is because this product contains fulvic acid, and very low levels of lead and other minerals the FDA considers harmful for people.

However, many shilajit brands will have their manufacturing processes and facilities registered with the FDA and operated to their standards.
